Christmas at Greerton

Today we had a shared lunch and each got a lil gift from our secret Santa. There was so much yummy food! I didn't know what to eat. I enjoyed unwrapping my gift, I got a mug full of favourite chocolates. 

Fun times in music......

I enjoy music as I can play the shakers and have a dance........ We had the lights on the Arohanui Christmas tree on and listened to Christmas carols it made me very happy.

Fashion show

For girls group we had a catwalk to show off all the cool clothes we made. Our big boss Peter came and joined in too. It was lots of fun

Friends

I was hanging out with Matthew today at lunchtime and he let me share his couch with him. I love coming to Arohanui to see all my friends.

Girl group

In girls group we went to the warehouse to check out the perfume sale! I like smelling the different ones and finding out what one i liked. There was a costume store next door that we looked in for costumes for the end of year Christmas party. 

Dancing queen!

I love getting up to have a good old boogie in my music session! It's a nice way to start off the week especially on a Monday. 

Ukulele time!

I love music and really love dancing, singing and playing instruments. I had fun playing the ukulele along to country music

Drama

For drama we performed beauty and the beast and the Pirates featuring John key. I was the queen and I had such a good time. This is my third production of the year, and I still love acting! One more to go before the holiday. 

Make over

In girls group I got my hair curled and my make up done! Very spoilt felt great 

My friend

my flat mate Paul has been attending arohanui for a bit now. I show him the ways on how we do things around here. It's nice to help out and have a familiar face around :) 

Shopping for fashion

I had a fun outing to the second hand stores in Greerton looking for clothes to restore and walk down the runway. I had a blast 

Jewellery making

Today in girls group we made some jewellery. I decided to make a necklace with the wooden beads. I enjoyed it so much I think I will keep it to wear for myself 😊

Art book

I have had some much fun drawing all the different type of animals for my art book. I used all types of colours that made my book come to life. 

iPad

In computers I like to play bowling on the iPad when I'm not busy making an invitation for my drama performance. I'm so good a getting a strike! 

Pottery

In pottery I am painting my dish I have made. It will then be sent to get fired and glossed. I can't wait for the end result, I'm so happy with what I've done 

Corn and kumara fritters

In cooking we  fritters, I enjoyed missing the eggs, flour, baking powder and creamed corn together while my friends grated the kumara, i mixed it all together, seasoned it and we fried them in olive oil, they turned out so crispy and delicious, I took some home to share with safe. 

Bay fair

We went to bayfair for a couple of hours to go shopping. I really enjoyed the coffee I got from the coffee club and we even saw Te puke there! It was a fun filled day with lots of laugh and window shopping. 

Classic car museum

I had an awesome trip to Hamilton to visit the classic car museum! I loved looking at the old equipment and petrol , there were heaps of really cool cars and I got to eat my lunch in the board room! What a neat day out.

Fire engine visit

This week we had the fire fighters come in their big truck to the centre to visit us. I liked going through the truck and seeing what it was like inside. It was a really fun day with lots of laughs. 

My personal book

Every Thursday we do personal books and work our own book to take home of all the cool stuff we do throughout the year. I love to colour in and stick them in my book when I finished one. It's very relaxing. I also found these cool cut outs of the minions in a magazine so I put them in too. 

Baking the beans

In my cooking session I learnt how to make baked beans including the sauce. We didn't cheat and use pre-made Baked Beans. We got crafty in the kitchen, I really enjoyed stirring the ingredients, I felt like the head chef of a kitchen.

St Johns visit

I was so lucky to get a ride in a real Ambo truck. I had so much fun I would love to do it again. We Even got taken for a ride around the block woohoo.

Incubator

For girls group we went to the incubator at the historic village. I enjoyed having a nice relaxing wonder around the whole village and I liked the red scooter I saw. 

Music

In music we've been listening to nursery rhymes and many other types of music. I enjoy having a good hit on the drums but I also like to try out different instruments aswell. 

Painting clay fish

I have been working really hard in garden art to weave our hanging baskets. I am now painting clay fish to decorate the baskets with. I decided to make a spotty tropical fish. I love being creative. 

Mossops honey

For girls group we went out to Mossops honey in Tauriko. I enjoyed looking at all the working bees and we got to taste different types of honey they produce. It was interesting to see. 

Rotorua government gardens

We had such a nice day at the Rotorua government gardens.  We saw the Rose gardens and had morning tea amongst the roses.  We walked around the gardens and the rotunda, and we had photos in front of the Anzac memorial, it still had the Poppy's in front of it.

Yatton park

We went exploring further into Yatton park and found a nice bush walk. I enjoyed walking through the trees and how they towered over us as they were massive! It was cool how the sunlight would shine through aswell. 

Pottery

Today I decorated my square pot with a pretty pattern.I looked at some lovely vases in a book and chose my favourite....Id like to have a go at making this one next !

Marshalls animal farm

We went to Marshalls animal farm for a day trip where there were lots of animals to see. I enjoyed letting the sheep eat food out of my hand. 

Drama

We are currently doing a drama production called the shop keeper. I love going up on stage and performing and I can't wait to perform infront of an audience. 

Underwater adventure in art and craft

I enjoy drawing all types of animals that live under the sea. I like using all different types of media especially the colouring pencils. I look forward to drawing more.

Alissa's dolls

In girls group we had the privilege to go Alissa's house and see her collection of dolls. She had so many I was amazed by them all. I really enjoyed holding them and I even had an ice block as an afternoon treat for myself. 

Girls group massage

In girls group today Donna gave me a massage. It felt so good that I ended up drifting off for a lil nap. I also was spoilt with getting a hand massage and my nails done. I really enjoyed getting pampered. 

Weaving

I have been doing some weaving on a basket frame, I am having fun weaving through the wires♥️

Lemon and ginger lemonade

I made some really yummy lemon and ginger lemonade. I'm pretty good using the blender.

Pottery

I had a nice time in pottery,we looked at the books to get some ideas and then I did a drawing of something I would like to make.We also made some clay Easter eggs to fill with chocolates.

Cooking

This week in cooking i looked at all the different ingredients I am able to use to bake with. I also looked at all the different utensils that can be used when baking.
